Backup, Recovery & Availability Terms
General expectations for backups, recovery, disaster response, maintenance, and service availability.
Effective September 24, 2026
1. Backup Practices
Where backup service is included, Denton BBQ will use reasonable backup or recovery features appropriate to the application and underlying providers. Backup methods may include provider point-in-time recovery, snapshots, exports, replicated storage, source-control history, or other commercially reasonable mechanisms.
2. Scope and Limitations
Backup coverage may differ by component. A database backup does not necessarily include external files, third-party SaaS records, payment-provider records, DNS, email, or data held only by an external service. The applicable client documentation may identify the intended backup scope for a specific system.
3. Recovery Objectives
Unless a signed service-level agreement states specific recovery-point or recovery-time objectives, Denton BBQ does not guarantee a particular maximum amount of data loss or a specific restoration time. Recovery depends on the failure mode, provider capabilities, data volume, and availability of required systems.
4. Client Archives
Managed backups are designed primarily for operational recovery and are not necessarily a permanent legal archive. Clients with regulatory, evidentiary, or long-term records-retention requirements should identify those requirements in writing so an appropriate retention strategy can be designed.
5. Maintenance and Availability
Planned maintenance, emergency maintenance, provider outages, software updates, security response, migrations, and other operational events may temporarily affect availability. Denton BBQ will use reasonable efforts to minimize avoidable disruption.
Questions about these terms?
Client-specific requirements should be documented in the applicable proposal, statement of work, service agreement, or secure client legal record.
